Wig 101
What kind of wig units do you create? U-Part & Lace Closure wig units.
Lace Closure wig units are constructed using 6x6 lace closures. Our wig units are constructed using a sewing machine. Wig cap construction choices are mesh ventilated cap or mesh ventilated dome cap. The wig units do not require glue and can be removed nightly. Wig unit construction includes, bleaching knots, tinting the lace to match your complexion, customizing the hairline, and styling the wig.
How long will the wig last? Our wigs are made with sewing machines to increase the longevity of the product. Our secure tight stitch construction reinforces the hair wefts and prevents unraveling. It is imperative that you maintain the integrity of the wig. Excessive styling, heat, washing, combing, and improper care may decrease the lifespan of your wig. The longevity of your wig relies on how you store, care, and handle the wig. Please be gentle and careful with your wig. The better you store, clean, and handle the wig-the longer relationship you and your wig will have. All Raw Hair Exchange wigs are machine-made and constructed with the highest quality of integrity. Give your wig T.L.C. and it will take care of you! At most your lace will need to be replaced ever so often. The replacement of the lace time frame will depend on how you care for your wig and how often you wear it.
How will you get my wig to fit my head? Each wig is created from measurements given for your unique head size which makes them customized. Please send the correct measurements to ensure the wig will fit snug and securely. There will be no refunds, no exchanges, no returns, no swaps due to a Wigs not fitting or if it does not produce the look you wanted for yourself. It is imperative that you send us your exact measurements to avoid an incorrect fit. If you need assistance with your measurements, please book a free-of-charge Wig Consultation with us!

Are you sending in your own hair for a wig to be made (Bring Your Own Bundles)? No problem! Bring Your Own Bundles! Send in your choice of extensions you already own to have a unit constructed. We prefer working with hair bundles that have not been cut at the wefts and tracks. A customer's hair bundles will be inspected upon receiving hair prior to the wig being constructed to inspect the quality and decency. If the quality of the hair is not up to par, customers will be required to provide new hair. The hair that you send in must be clean, washed, and free of debris. What is the difference between a Custom Wig and a Premade Wig? Custom wigs are specifically made for each customer. Custom wigs are made with custom measurements just for you and only you. It is not a one size fits all wig. Premade wigs come as Small, Medium, or Large.
How often should I wash my wig? I recommend washing your unit every 2 weeks or whenever when you feel that it is weighed down with product.
How should I store my units when they aren’t being worn? We suggest storing your wigs using mannequin heads made from Styrofoam or canvas cork material. Your units can be placed on the heads to preserve your style and keep it looking nice.
What’s the proper way to wear my hair under my units? To achieve the best results of cornrows or a neatly braided foundation is recommended. The smaller your braids are, the flatter and smoother the surface of your head will be. This will allow your wig to fit correctly. Not bumpy and lumpy!
